This book was born of an expressed need of a visitor’s guidebook about Abydos, Because I live nearby Abydos, I have frequented and visited this place since my childhood, and through my work as a tourist guide and Specialized in archeology. I see many visitors come to Abydos and they haven’t a tourist guide and need to know some information about the temples in Abydos which opening for visitors, and exploring the different parts, Scenes, Hieroglyphic text on the walls, the function of some parts of the temples… etc.

Since that moment I have realized that it is necessary to write a book, as a guidebook highlighting middle Abydos zone, which visitors can still walk through the magnificently decorated monuments of Seti I and his son Ramesses II. And when I started writing this book, I had to take into consideration, not only the tourists but also tourist guide, the Egyptology students, and also the amateurs who loves Egypt and Egyptology.
